We have a new member on the Accessibility Committee!
Corrine Bridger is a mother of three fantastic boys ranging in age from 8 to 19 who are all neurodivergent and have mental health struggles, along with caring for adult family members with intellectual and physical disabilities. Corrine’s background is in non-profit work. After leaving her position at the Canadian Red Cross as Disaster Management coordinator (responsible for doing all shelter site visits and updating MOU with the different municipalities) to support her family’s needs full time, she has taken on passionate projects and works from home.
Corrine is co-chair of the Windsor Essex chapter of PCMH (Parents for Children’s Mental Health) and loves connecting with families. She has a passion for supporting parents and caregivers. She believes that connecting with others who have had similar experiences is vital to feeling empowered, supported and understood. Corrine has coordinated community events, such as “My Neurodivergent Child,” which brought together community resource providers, educators and families. Corrine sits on various committees such as Autism Advocate Parenting Magazine, Mental Health Commission of Canada Early Childhood Mental Health and does contract work with The Windsor Essex Family Network.
Corrine will make a welcomed addition to any committee and I am glad she has joined us. She is also out there in the community helping wherever an extra hand is needed. Please join me in formally welcoming Corrine to municipal politics.
