Crickets on Answers…
Each year, E.L.K. comes to Essex Council to present their audited financial statements. They used to just send them for us to receive on our agenda but now they come along in case we have questions. Each year I have been told I can not ask questions about asset management. The former Mayor and E.L.K made sure to block each and every question I had. The Town of Kingsville recently asked E.L.K a lot of questions and they got answers!
Why do we not get answers? I have sent the following questions to Mayor Meloche and E.L.K staff and have heard nothing but crickets….

Both Kingsville and Lakeshore have had chances to ask questions on asset management. Essex has not, and of course as you know, Board members can not share information with shareholder voices.
As a shareholder voice I have the following questions:
In 2021-How many aging poles have been treated guided by expert advice in the Harrow/ Essex service area? How far along are you in Essex/Harrow on completing your Annual Distribution Asset Inspection? How is the Preventative Maintenance Program? Are you replacing any transformers in subdivisions in Harrow/Essex? Has any third-party tree trimming taken place in any areas within Essex/Harrow? What is the update on working with Hydro One Experts to increase service reliability in the Harrow/Essex area?
2022- Is there any recent tree trimming in house/ third party actively addressing areas within Essex or Harrow? Are there any plans to replace pad-mounted transformers in the Harrow/Essex area? Are you hiring a third party to complete asset inspections or pole remediation? Are you gathering any valuable asset information for inputs for planned GIS mapping? Is there any research being done on fault locators to assist on faster restoration times? Is there a plan to roll out fault indictor strategy within the Essex/Harrow service area?
Crickets.
Is Essex Council going to have the opportunity to give feedback on specific issues or incidents of concern. Can you please report to the Shareholder on the progress of you action plan?
