Recently I have received an increase in complaints due to recycle box items rejected by the new service provider, the City of Windsor. I have even been told by residents in our community that ” they are done with recycling and throwing it all in the garbage now”. The Service provider is operating under the terms set by the EWSWA. Please remember that when we change service providers there are kinks to work out. Make sure to have your recycle out the night before or by 6 am. Ensure that blue box items and red box items are separated into separate boxes and please do not use any plastic bags. Going forward your recycle may not get picked up even if one item is misplaced. It only takes a few minutes to recycle property and when we do it saves the system money and keeps more money in our pockets. Recycling is important as it keeps valuable products out of our landfill which it twofold- the landfills fills up slower and we get another use out of our materials. Who wants a new landfill in their backyard? Not me! I hope we can work together practicing the ART of Recycling!
