Great news- a sidewalk is coming this year from the Greenway to Maidstone along South Talbot! Over the last few years there have been many residents who have reached out to council and myself asking for a trail or sidewalk to be installed here. This section of roadway is currently under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation and our staff members have been working hard with them to negotiate this on behalf of our community.
Thank you Town of Essex staff for working to make this possible and thank you MTO for seeing the value in safe walk-able roadways for our community. Now all we are going to have to do is keep it clean! This week a friend and I spent an hour cleaning up and got 7 bags of garbage from the intersection at Tim Horton’s and McDonald s. Let’s keep our town clean!
