During the November 1st Council Meeting, I entered a Notice of Motion which will be debated November 15th pending a seconder. Residents on this road have brought forward several issues with land uses, zoning, property standards issues, soil contamination, heavy traffic in the agricultural/ residential lands on Giardini.
“That council have an public discussion about 7068 Giardini as it relates resident concerns regarding the property including a review of the history of the grandfathering in as junk yard in a residential/ agricultural area, property standards, environmental concerns around the storage and leaking of vehicles and conditions of the grandfathering as well as any other town records on the property“.
This road is a nice residential/agricultural road in our town and over the years the number of properties that are running various businesses have increased. It all started when this particular business was grandfathered in. I was told the property has switched hands and the grandfathering was supposed to cease, according to some neighbors.
It is time to review this file and work to ensure our soils are not be contaminated and that appropriate zoning is being used.
