Speeding continues to be a top complaint in our municipality. I encourage residents to continue to call the OPP non-emergency line to increase enforcement in problem areas. In addition, I have sponsored half of the cost of some, “Please Slow Down” signs which are available for 5 dollars on my porch in Harrow. I will also arrange a pick up location in Ward 1 and 2 if there is interest there. My address is 255 Wellington Street in Harrow. We are using the honor system so please leave 5 dollars per sign.
By placing this sign on your property we are not only letting our neighbors know that speeding in the area is an issue but we are signally to OPP that speeding is an issue. Many times those that are pulled over are people who live close by. Speeding kills and makes our community one that people do not feel safe in. It is time for the community to come together and let speeders know enough is enough!
I am also requesting council have a discussion about a traffic enhancement position. I will keep everyone posted on that when it happens.
