4 Storey Apartment Building Approved
A site plan control application has been approved for the McGregor Community. The property is located at 0 Parnell Street, on the East of Walker Road, in McGregor. The location is just behind the McGregor Community Centre, which houses the library and a park in front. This is an ideal location for new homes.
The community is looking at proposed development is a 4-storey apartment consisting of 116 dwelling units in the first phase. The second phase will be 26 future townhouse units. Proposed as well is a parking area to accommodate parking spaces, 153 in total. In terms of accessible spaces there are 6 proposed. The site plan includes, 2 loading spaces and 6 bicycle spaces. The Town of Amherstburg will provide the Sanitary and water servicing.
This is fantastic news for the McGregor Community! Better get that splash pad up and running sooner rather than later council!
Concerns Were Raised About Number of Handicap Parking Spaces
Learn from experience? Unfortunately our zoning bylaw amendment regulates the number of parking spaces in multi-residential units. I can almost guarantee there will not be enough parking nor enough accessible parking. More and more families need two parties working to afford to live and more people are needing barrier free parking as well.
