Breaking News: Kingsville Essex Associated Band Looking for a Home in Harrow High

Check out this Proposal! The Fun is Just Beginning! Essex Council Look at the Possibilities!

“My name is Jamie Bombardier and I am the President of the Kingsville and Essex Associated Band.

Recently I heard that Essex Council is considering the possibility of purchasing Harrow High School. I want to, on behalf of the Kingsville and Essex Associated Band, say that this could be a perfect fit for us as a permanent home. We have been looking for this for many, many years.

We typically need 3 to 4 rooms for musical instruction  and a gymnasium for our Colourguard and Majorettes.

If we had 2 dedicated classrooms and access to some common areas like the lunch room or gymnasium on any given Thursday that would accommodate us as well.

One of the greatest hurdles we have renting from the school board, is that whenever the school needs the gym or the classrooms they take precedence and we are cancelled last minute.

In the past, we have had our rehearsal space cancelled the night of our big recruiting drive “The Open House” wasting much time, advertising dollars, and much effort.

We are often limited because we only have one night of rehearsal per week. With a dedicated permanent space, we could offer several days of classes to various groups.

Please consider us in this endeavour, as this could take our group to the next level and allow us to grow.

We are truly excited about this opportunity. Please don’t let it pass us by.

As it is right now the Town of Essex gives $5,000 per year to the Band, with an additional $2,500 of in-kind funds for renting space in the town. We could divert some of these funds to help pay for it.

And I am quite sure that the Band would be more than happy to play for, and participate in, several fundraisers for this purchase.

Let’s come together as a community

We can do this! We should do this!

Please feel free to call me with any questions.

Thank you all so much for your time and consideration.”
