Everyone should be able to access our trails
We have a beautiful active transportation trail from Victoria to the Greenway in Ward 1 along South Talbot but there are no curb cuts connecting the trail to users. Many people want to get out and use the trail system but for those with wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers, this can be very challenging. I want our amenities to be user friendly to all residents. We have done great work, we just need to add the finishing touches! I am going to see if it’s possible to have operations cut a few curb cuts to make this strip more accessible so I entered a notice of motion for discussion in council.

Hi Robert, can you please add the following notice of motion to our council agenda
“That Council direct administration to make the active transportation trail more accessible by installing two curb cuts on the bike lane on South Talbot Road, one across from Diane Street and at least one more closer to Victoria so residents can access the walking path with walkers, wheelchairs, bikes, and strollers. Essex council recognizes the need for connectivity, accessibility, and safety on our public trails and curb cuts will allow all residents the opportunity to use the trail.”
