Fireworks Bylaw- Seeking Feedback.

  • News

Council only moved forward with first and second reading July 5th- the bylaw is coming back to council for 3rd reading July 19th. There is still time to send us your feedback.

I am interested in hearing from those for and against fireworks so we can balance the desire of the community going forward. Last summer, fireworks were an almost daily occurrence in the Harrow area and many members of our community were upset with the frequency of them going off. I was getting messages all hours of the day from residents negatively impacted by the constant setting off of fireworks. This proposed bylaw expands on the number of days- is this acceptable or not?

That By-Law 2011 being a by-law to prohibit and regulate the sale of fireworks and the setting off of fireworks in the Town of Essex be read a first, second and third time and finally passed on July 5, 2021″

Looking for community feedback on the setting off of Fireworks- here is the proposed bylaw. Send me an email if you have comments, sbondy@essex.ca
