It is Spring and that means grass cutting has started again. The nice weather also brings out the bikes and motorcycles. Each year I receive complaints about home owners putting grass on the road when they cut their lawn. There is nothing in the Highway Traffic Act to ticket this nor is there a town bylaw to prevent it. Talks with Town administration have lead to the question of how to enforce such a bylaw, define it, and have the people power to enforce it. I would love to see a bylaw in the Town of Essex, so let council know your thoughts at councilmembers@essex.ca and please share this post.
In the meantime… Please do not be a Grasshole. There are so many reasons why grass does not belong on the road, but today, please spread the word that it is motorcycle season and grass on the road is deadly and dangerous to our riders.
