Affordable housing has reached a crisis level in our region. Council has discussed “nanny suites” several times and I am happy to announce that the report on Secondary Dwelling Units is here! At the April 19, 2021 Council Meeting, Council may:
• Approve the Official Plan Amendment or defer decision if further information is required
• Approve Zoning Bylaw amendment or defer decision if further information is required
• Material regarding Official Plan Amendment will be submitted to County of Essex for Approval
• If County approves, notice of Official Plan Amendment and Zoning Bylaw Amendment for SDUs
will be published in local papers
