Alright folks, as you have probably heard the date for Council acceptance on the offer at the Old School House in Colchester is tentatively extended to March 15th.
What does this mean? Well it means council has yet to make a final decision and if you want to provide council with your personal opinion you still have a chance. By the sounds of it I do not believe council collectively will hold a public information session, disappointed yes, surprised no. That means it is time to call your councillors and send them emails on your views of what was proposed at the Old School House and what you would like to see generally in Colchester.
The best way, in my opinion to share thoughts with council is to use the one email address for all of council, councilmembers@essex.ca . This email goes to all of us and is the most transparent way to communicate to council otherwise there is potential for councillors to say ” I heard from 100’s of residents who say …”. I encourage you to let us all know, when it comes to voting the ward boundaries drop all votes from councillors count not just the ward representatives. Your views are important
What happens in Colchester also does not stay in Colchester, opinions from all over our municipality matter and opinions from all sectors of our municipality. Colchester is home to those who live there and local buy in is very important but thoughts and visions from all residents in our town are part of the decision making process. So if you have not done so already send your thoughts in. I can not wait to hear them!
